From Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th September 2015, Beamish open air museum is host to the annual Agricultural Show, a fun filled day recreating a traditional country show from the early 1900s!
This show is a real blast from the past and is part of a larger month long festival of Agriculture, which celebrates the rural heritage of the North East of England. The museum itself is situated in County Durham’s beautiful countryside; with 300 acres of natural landscape surrounding it, there’s plenty to admire!
The day promises to be informative and entertaining, with visitors being able to participate in a whole host of wacky activities including tomahawk throwing and archery. If you fancy taking a back seat, there’s plenty of interesting demonstrations on- you can visit the craft tent and watch the experts at work or enjoy a traditional sheep dog display. Afterwards, why not head to the beer tent for a taste of real ale whilst listening to the very impressive big brass band. Phew! We’re tired already.
If you’re interested in attending this event, we recommend you take advance of our Beamish Museum leisure break package.
