  • My wife and myself stayed here for one night on the 19th July 2014 with a Shearings Coach Holiday en rout e to Scotland on a bed and breakfast and evening meal basis. The room was of good quality and the meals were very nice and good value.

Stayed there for one night visiting friends. It’s so close to the A1 motorway and having a MacDonalds next door was a real bonus. We booked an Executive room on the ground floor. The wing had just been recently refurbished and looks amazing in comparison with the other Holiday Inns I’ve been to. The staff were nice and very helpful, and there was complimentary internet. The breakfast selection was really good and was pleasantly surprised to find USB charging ports on the restaurant tables.

  • I stayed here once on business and I thought it was very nice. Apparently it has just changed to a Holiday Inn and the decorations in the reception and lounge are very nice. There are plenty of choices in the restaurant and it looks like the rooms were just remodelled.

We stay two nights, great hotel, clean, cool modern hotel. Lovely staff, comfy beds, nice soft fluffy towels, nice touch with fridge complete with water, sparkling and still, juice and kitkat. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • Our double room was large, pleasantly furnished, with a comfortable bed, plenty of storage space, the usual tea- and coffee-making facilities, flat-screen TV and triple glazing. Everything was clean, though it was too warm in the room, even with the heating turned down. The shower was excellent. The restaurant’s food was good. Staff were all helpful and pleasant. The electronic key stopped working at one point.

I stayed here overnight whilst on business in the area. The room I had was huge with a good desk area, lots of plugs and amazingly fast internet for a Holiday Inn. Room service was good, lots of parking on site and friendly staff – all round an excellent stay.

  • I stayed one night whilst on business in Darlington. They were much cheaper than the Premier Inn and only 10 mins or so drive from the town.
Staff were really pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were much larger than I was expecting. The refurbishment has obviously been done well as nothing was looking tired… Except me!
I only ate breakfast but it was good. Sausages are usually a good pointer as to the quality of the food and they were not the cardboard ones you get at some national chains. There was ample parking on site too. The car park was busy but no problems finding a space.
My only criticism was the ENORMOUS speed bump in the way in and out. I caught my car on it on the way out. Not pleasant as it was only a month old at the time. Just be careful. It does need sorting.

Pleasant staff to welcome us. Trouble free check in. Rooms for 2 adults and 2 children was spacious with comfortable beds for all (kids had sofa bed). No bath but great shower. Very clean. Only very slight quibble was that the sink was in the room, not the en-suite, what was all that about? Wifi worked without hitch. Breakfast was great with pancakes for the kids (and mum!). Very very quiet. Lovely.

Room Tip: No pool. Try and get a room facing away from the A1.
